They say Haitian citizens suffer from “Vaccine Hesitancy.” I’d say they’re paying attention. How many times does it take a nation so victimized by Imperial Humanitarianism, US/Western style, for it to wake up and smell the coffee? You read the headline correctly. But let me say it again for the folks in the back: Haiti has the lowest COVID-19 cases and deaths in the Western Hemisphere. Now critics will quickly point to their pitiful economic conditions and question Haiti’s COVID-19 record keeping, thereby making light of her success. But it is what it is! And about Haiti’s purported “vaccine hesitancy,” if any nation has earned the right to be suspicious about the motives of Western “do-gooders” and knows also how it feels to have their governments overthrown — multiple times — by the US, Haitians have! And for any nation whose citizens look anything like Haitians, they’d better be “Vaccine Hesitant” too. The continent of Africa has low vaccination and COVID death rates as well.
