I’ve been a student of mass media since I was 15 years old. I’ve always been fascinated by it. So it should come as no surprise that I spent the lion’s share of my career in some form or another working in or alongside mass media practitioners. Print and TV reporters, radio and TV and online publications. I think I learned a thing or two along the way. One aspect of the news business that I learned during my tenure is what makes for a good news story. First and foremost — controversy. Drama, conflict, emotion, death, calamity, destruction, they are all part and parcel to a ‘good’ hard news story.
Which brings me to the DRASTIC coronavirus lab-leak story. Now, let’s unpack the newsworthiness of the DRASTIC COVID lab-engineered/leaked documents story. But before we do that, let’s look at a similar sensational news story. The recent Pandora Papers revelations, the biggest data leak of offshore financial secrets of the super rich and powerful ever uncovered. It was covered extensively by media. Washington Post, New York Times, Reuters, CNN, AP, Bloomberg, and many others reported on this. Why? It’s newsworthy. It has all the ingredients media outlets look for in a story. Controversy, drama, mystery and this case, dirt on the greedy!
The DRASTIC story on the other hand drew — Crickets! Why? For those who don’t know D.R.A.S.T.I.C. or Decentralized Radical Autonomous Search Team Investigating COVID-19 is a team of private citizen-journalists and investigators who coalesced around Twitter and began piecing together the puzzle of where the coronavirus or SARS CoV-2 originated. Using leaked documents from whistleblowers and plain old fashioned investigative due diligence, DRASTIC has amassed a treasure cove of emails and documents and credible evidence pointing to a lab-engineered origin of SARS CoV-2. Seeing that SARS CoV-2 has killed more than four million people worldwide and 700,000 Americans, one would think that reporters would be champing at the bit to outdo each other with yet another iteration of this sensational story. Not only the death and destruction visited on so many innocent souls, but the destruction of whole nations’ economies and disruption of the continuity of life itself. To make matters worst, the DRASTIC investigation points to American universities and American scientists working under the cover of scientific research, and in violation of international law to make an animal virus more pathogenic, more infectious and able to penetrate human cells to infect human beings. Talk about a news story that not only has a national impact, but an international impact. You can’t get no more sensational or newsworthy than that. And yet …Crickets. One story got plenty of play, the other none!
You would think Congress and governors and the people whose charter is to protect human life would be up in arms over this. Where’s Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats? Where’s Mitch McConnell and the Republicans? Since taking office, President Joe Biden ordered an investigation into the origins of COVID-19. Well, Mr. President, what say you? And an even better question is where’s the Washington Post, where’s the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, LA Times, Boston Globe, Wall Street Journal, and of course all of the talking heads on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, 60 Minutes, and the like. Where are they? Surely they know about this story lurking under the radar. What are they waiting for? For that matter, what does the scientific community have to say about all of this? The whole academy may suffer irreparable damage from this, should a fraction of this be true. Maybe that’s why it’s being covered up?

- Researchers say there’s evidence within the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein that suggests the virus is a product of genetic manipulation.
- Exiled Chinese scientist Li-Meng Yan says SARS-CoV-2 is an “unrestricted bioweapon” and there’s been “large-scale, organised scientific fraud”.
- Six miners in Yunnan, who were removing bat faeces from a cave, suffered a severe pneumonia-like illness in 2012 and three of them died. They had a high fever, dry cough, sore limbs, and headaches – all symptoms associated with Covid-19.
- A database containing information about the sequencing of samples collected from the Yunnan mine by researchers from the Wuhan Institute of Virology has been taken offline.
- There are said to be sequences of HIV-1 in the SARS-CoV-2 genome.
- American and Chinese scientists have collaborated for decades on gain-of-function research.
- There have been numerous ‘leaks’ of viruses from laboratories, including during the SARS outbreak in 2003–2004.
- WHO team says lab origin ‘extremely unlikely’.
- An international group of scientists has called for a “full and unrestricted international forensic investigation into the origins of Covid-19”.
This is just one snippet of the evidence DRASTIC is amassing! And yet, no media, no congressional inquiries, no public outcry. 4,845,889 dead worldwide, 700,000 Americans, dead. Credible evidence pointing toward specific people and organizations — specifically, Peter Daszak of the EcoAlliance, Ralph Baric, nanotechnology expert working in concert with the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and none other than Anthony Fauci, who is accused of financing the Gain of Function research. American citizens they are, monkeying around in bat caves and labs, and taking bat viruses, making them more infectious, aerosolizing them and helping them make the ”jump” to human beings. All of these allegations are consistent to what Dr. David Martin asserted coming out of his analysis of 4,000 coronavirus patents. Despite the powder keg allegations Martin alleged, no mainstream media outlet would come anywhere near him. Why? Could it be the same reason why Francis Boyle is persona non grata? Boyle, who crafted the Anti-Biological Weapons Act, has gone on record as early as February of 2020 sayings SARS CoV-2 is a man-made and the product of biological warfare.
We are currently dealing with an unprecedented catastrophe, and no one is even giving this information the time of day. No one trying to debunk this evidence, even if it can be debunked. Speaks volumes about the Fourth Estate, the academy of professional journalists expected to protect us from tryranny of the few. History will not be kind!
